"Growing up a child who was as moved by the melodic pop of his father's Beatles records as he was by his own selections of punk, folk and grunge, Daniel McQuade's music successfully blends the two extremes, forging a sound that is fresh in its familiarity. Lyrically, he presents slightly-surreal storyscapes of loss and yearning, but does so over a backdrop that is, at once, beautifully melodic and wholly organic. After a decade of writing and performing in the various bars, pubs and clubs of New York City and Portland, Oregon, McQuade has finally hit upon his sound; reminiscent of Jeff Buckley at dusk and Leonard Cohen at dawn, though undecidedly his own."

Prior to venturing out on his own, Danny McQuade played in numerous bands from Brooklyn, New York. The first bands McQuade played in were The Teen idols and Jet Screamer. He played drums in both The Teen Idols and Jet Screamer from 1996 through 1998. In February of 1998, Danny released his first demo as a solo artist and singer/songwriter titled "Empty Hand."

Shortly after releasing "Empty Hand," McQuade formed a band with some childhood buddies, Paul, Ace, Frank Schiazza and Jason. This formation became, Henry Krinkle, a rock band. Henry Krinkle released three EP's. Their first EP is titled "Commentary," a collection of eight songs recorded during the Spring of 1999. The second was a live cd titled "Live @ CBGB'S 2000," which was followed by "The Great Line EP." Henry Krinkle never really broke up. They are technically to this day still a band. They just don't play shows.

After Henry Krinkle's last show on June 26th, 2004, Danny McQuade took a much needed break from being in a band. He didn't pick up a guitar or write a song for more than two years. In October 2005, McQuade decided he should focus on writing and recording as much music as he could while the well was full.

The two years off seemed to rejuvenate McQuade.  Between October of 2006 and May of 2008 McQuade released four records, two of which were electronic albums and one EP.

Between late 2008 and 2010, McQuade once again took some much needed time off from writing and recording music.  On June 29th, 2011 "Patterns in the Sky" will be released.
